Experiences Musings and Observations Only in Montréal

Au Revoir

We’ve been packing up and cleaning for several days now, but today is the massive push to pull out and fly home. I’ve been sad and wistful; said goodbye to one of my Montréal Facebook friends who became an IRL friend and got teary, and today feeling keenly all the “this is the last time” thoughts crossing my brain like shooting stars of sentimentality.

But soon we’ll be back in L.A., lots to do and stress about, including a follow-up post or two here (don’t worry, the Canaderping isn’t over) and starting work on getting our next PR stint in Canada together.

For now: goodbye, Montréal. You’re very pretty, and you’ve been pretty good to us. We will see you again, fates willing.

Goodbye, little tea kettle heating up in the dark autumn morning for the last time.
Goodbye, last sunrise from our little balcony–we will miss the fresh air and fireworks.
Goodbye, last sunrise reflection and noisy-ass rooftop restaurant that kept us awake all summer.
Bye-bye Bixi, hate to leaf you (snork)
Goodbye, little albino squirrel I saw in Parc La Fontaine on my last bike ride. I don’t believe in omens, so if you’re trying to tell me something it would be better to send a text or winning lottery ticket or something.

One reply on “Au Revoir”

I definitely enjoyed learning about Montreal. Looking forward to learn more about Canadian cities!
