One Week Later

Some things in the botanical garden change dramatically from week to week. Other things do not.

Here are some pictures. Compare to last week!

Remember the tulip field?

This next one, we looked at from a different angle last week, but it’s the same magnolia tree.

Magnolia

The selfie-tree from last week was largely being ignored this week. It was still in bloom, but not in the same profusion. That being said, there were plenty of other selfie and portrait spots in high rotation.

Dynamic portraiture

The same tree, sans people:

Cherry blossoms

Many visitors to the gardens find semiotics confusing or inconvenient.

Haunted, headless portrait

Backlit tulips and just ridiculously photogenic. This week, there were people on collapsible camp chairs, tripods, massive lenses, and different kinds of reflectors, scrims, and shadow nets taking pictures of the tulips. The Jardin officially prohibits commercial photography, but some of the set-ups rivaled what you’d see at big commercial model shoots.

Not actually tulips
Nope, still not tulips
Seriously, these aren’t backlit and don’t even look like tulips
OK, right flower, but not backlit
Right flowers, but same problem.

Let’s try that again. OK, this should work.

Glow up

Assuming decent weather, we’ll see what’s new next week.
