The weather has been chaotic this year. We’ve had repeated heat waves and a lot of rain. In fact, this has been the wettest summer on record (although when you read they only started tracking in 1942, it’s a lot less impressive than the headline suggests).
It hasn’t stopped me from wandering around. Parc-La-Fontaine is worth seeing in any kind of weather.

Suddenly, with September, the temperatures have dropped. It’s cool at night — sometimes even what we’d call California Cold (i.e., below 60ºF or around 15.5C).
Trees have started to turn. Some, it’s just a branch, others, all along the tips.

Insects are still out, trying to take advantage of the flowers while they’re still around.

Up on Mont Royal, there’s even more change visible. It tends to be on the edges of open areas, but not always, You can be walking through the dense green woods and be startled by a single tree in blazing yellows.

There is also a huge fruiting of fungi on the Mont. I may put together a post on those too, especially since there are so many kinds that I’ve never seen in the arid lands.

Beautiful photos – I particularly like the one with the yellow leaves with green veins
Thanks, that’s my favorite too!
