Using a phone as a hot-spot to provide internet is less than ideal, especially if you’re a programmer. I’ve already burned through most of my 5GB roaming data for the month. Everything devours bandwidth. Forget to put your phone in airplane mode overnight, and it’ll slurp down 100MB of app updates, news, and weather reports. Launch Android Studio to build a project, and it’ll demand 250MB of updates. And Heaven help you if you accidentally leave Skype running over your lunch break.
The cable modem and router showed up sooner than expected, and there was great rejoicing. Sylvain set ’em right up.
But it was all in vain. The two baleful lights go blink-a-blink-a-blink and the modem can’t sync to the signal. Calls to the internet provider have revealed that the self-install option is “not available” at this address.
A technician will come in a week.
It remains to be seen if we will succumb to madness before help arrives.

That’s rough.
Hopefully they arrive soon!
Oof. Hang in there.
